Goals

The following elements were key to ensuring that the system would be as efficient and functional after the changes as it was before the migration, which is important for both cost management and operational consistency of the company.

Process and tools

The migration process included a thorough diagnosis and optimization of product information management.

01 Functionality diagnosis

At this stage, we gathered full information on Abriga's current product information management process, which allowed us to map current processes and determine the needs of the PIM software.

03 Migration process

After planning the process and preparing a test environment on a dedicated server with the PIM Akeneo Community Edition system, we proceeded to configure the new system, including the data model, import and export profiles, as well as channels and languages. We completed the export of the commodity database and transferred it to the new PIM Akeneo Community Edition system, already running in a production environment.

02. analysis and alternative proposals

After gathering all the necessary data, we proceeded to analyze the collected requirements and propose alternative solutions based on the Community Edition. The project involved data modeling, changing from Akeneo PIM Enterprise Edition to Community Edition, and analyzing the feasibility of using Digital Asset Management.
