If a representative from the side of the implemented system (e.g. ERP) wants to make an integration with your Magento store, all he needs is any programming language (PHP, C#, Python) in which he can connect to the SQL database. He does not need the knowledge to connect via API directly to Magento.

Thanks to the use of an Middleware Database, Magento and, for example, ERP systems do not connect to each other directly, but through a dedicated data bus (intermediary base). The separation of the systems improves security and makes possible hacking more difficult.

Greater store efficiency

We limit the download of a very large amount of exchanged data to the most important records. This increases the speed of data flow between systems and the store.

No risk of data corruption

When accessing data through an API, there is a risk of data corruption. With the Middleware Database, you don't risk losing data through an inappropriate call.

Is the Middleware Database better than direct integration?

The answer is simple: YES!

Putting the operation of the Middleware Database in a nutshell - when performing a direct integration, the integrator has to find his way through several hundred tables and select from them those that will be transferred from Magento to the system being integrated. Thanks to the use of Intermediate Base, the integrator receives only a few dozen tables that he needs. In addition, no excess data is exported from the Magento system slowing down the operation of the store.
